The questions we cringe at are sometimes the ones that hit the places we most need to heal. 

On social media, a friend asked her audience if they feel valuable, worthy of love and respect.

Most of the responses were some variation on no!!!

Just last week, I was talking with a client who has been working with me on her feelings of unlovability, feelings for which she believed she could find ample proof in her past experiences as a child, and in relationships. 

She told me she doesn't feel unlovable anymore. She knows she is worthy of love. She doesn't take other people's issues personally anymore. 

And then she said this:

"All the little things that happen are an opportunity, that’s what’s happened since I started working with you."

.

When asked if I feel worthy, I can answer, resoundingly, as I did on my friend's post:

"Yes. I have made it my life's work to love what I'm offered, especially the painful stuff, and to transmute it into gold. I think my job here is to hold that torch as high as I can. 

I realized that I couldn't give from empty, because that created a net energetic loss, and so I learned how to fill the well so that I could give from an overflowing cup.

It's been a tremendous amount of work, work that is ongoing, but one thing that helped me was going directly into my "ugly" feelings, the faces of me I abhorred, and inviting them to ask of me what they needed and to offer their gifts. I found aspiration in envy, potential in fear, renewal in grief, transformation in anger."

I don't just offer the gift and opportunity in every challenge, I offer the path to loving and looking forward to every challenge; it's a path I had to find myself, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I call it the
